Earth Day.. Animal Kingdom’s Birthday.. otherwise known as the first official date that Disney announced for “Rivers of Light,” the highly anticipated nighttime spectacular to debut. Everyone at Animal Kingdom today was partying for the planet… except for construction crews. They were scrambling to get work done in the viewing area of the arena. With no date set (assuming a Fall debut), things are starting to come together beautiful around the river. Vibrant banners are being hung, two entrance locations are complete, authentic signs are on display and lanterns are floating above the viewer’s seating area.

With no official debut date set, Animal Kingdom will be running a temporary show The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic, starting Memorial Day weekend, along with the many other new offerings exclusive to the hours after sunset.
